An outdoor kitchen turns your backyard from a place you mow into a place you live. It's where summer dinners happen, where you host without cramming everyone inside, and where a Sunday afternoon with a smoker and a cold drink becomes the best room in the house. We design and build outdoor kitchens around how you actually cook and entertain — not a generic Pinterest layout. Every kitchen is engineered for BC's climate, because an outdoor kitchen that can't handle rain isn't an outdoor kitchen — it's an expensive mistake.
Design consultation — we assess your yard, discuss your cooking style, review gas/electrical/water access, and develop a layout that fits your space and budget.
Concrete block or steel-framed island construction with cement board sheathing — the structural base that everything else sits on, built to handle weight and weather.
Stone, tile, or stucco veneer finish on the island exterior — matched to your home's architecture and your patio materials for a cohesive look.
Countertop installation — granite, quartz, or poured concrete with proper overhang for bar seating and water drainage away from appliance cutouts.
Gas line, electrical, and plumbing coordination with licensed trades — we manage the permits and scheduling so you deal with one team, not four.
We install marine-grade 304 stainless steel appliances — built-in grills from Napoleon, Weber, and Blaze, side burners, smoker inserts, and pizza ovens. Granite and quartz countertops that handle rain, heat, and below-zero temperatures without cracking or staining. Cultured stone, natural stone, and porcelain tile veneer on the island body. Covered structures with polycarbonate or cedar-and-steel pergola roofing to keep the cooking zone dry through BC's rainy months. We build the kitchen, the patio it sits on, and the cover above it — one scope, one crew, one finished result.
Outdoor kitchen costs in the Lower Mainland range from $8,000 to $15,000 for a basic built-in grill station with countertop and storage, to $25,000 to $60,000+ for a full kitchen with multiple cooking zones, sink with plumbing, refrigeration, covered structure, and integrated seating. The exact cost depends on materials, appliance selection, gas and electrical requirements, and site conditions. We provide detailed estimates after an on-site consultation.
Absolutely — and that's the whole point. We design outdoor kitchens specifically for BC's wet climate. Covered structures keep the cooking area dry. Marine-grade stainless steel appliances resist coastal moisture. Granite, quartz, and concrete countertops handle rain and temperature swings. Proper drainage under and around the kitchen prevents pooling. You'll use your outdoor kitchen from April through October — and many clients use theirs year-round.
Gas line connections require a licensed gas fitter and a permit in all BC municipalities. If your outdoor kitchen includes a roofed structure over 10 square metres, a building permit is typically required. Electrical work for lighting, outlets, and refrigeration also requires permits. We coordinate all permit applications and licensed trades — gas, electrical, plumbing — as part of our build process.
We build outdoor kitchens in Vancouver, Surrey, Burnaby, New Westminster, Coquitlam, and across the Lower Mainland.
